This scent is absolutely heavenly. It reminds me so much of baklava. The sweet honey scent mixed with the roasted nuttiness of the almond is truly the perfect combo. If you love sweet treat smells, I wholeheartedly recommend this one!
This butter is smooth, whippy, and so delectably spreadable it’s not even funny. I spent a good year perfecting the recipe as it is today, and I can honestly say it’s amazing.
Ingredients:
SHEA BUTTER
MANGO BUTTER
AVOCADO OIL
WATER
EMULSIFIERS made from coconuts
ROSEHIP OIL
CALENDULA
COMFREY
COCONUT GLYCERIN
OPTIPHEN- my preservative of choice. Because of the addition of water into the body butter, a preservative is needed to combat potential bacteria growth. It was important to me to keep the body butter as natural as possible, so, naturallyhehe, I found an all natural preservative
FRAGRANCE OIL- I debated a lot about fragrance, wrung my hands and tried to find a bunch of really awesome completely natural scents. And, while there are still some natural scents in my arsenal of smell-goods, I ultimately decided that I wanted to be able to bring in scents that the tag of “all natural” couldn’t provide, so if having a completely natural even the scent that takes up 1-3% of the recipe body butter is important to you, I do have some scents that fit the bill. They will be labeled all natural in the listing title
Why make my own body butter, you ask? Well, the store bought stuff just wasn’t doing it for me. Between the horrifying list of dubious ingredients and the fact that it left my skin greasier than a wayward fast food deep fryer, I was not happy with regular moisturizing options.
But I NEEDED something that would help my poor skin deal with the horrifyingly painful cracking and chapping that accompanies the dry as heck frigid winters of Northern Utah.
Sooooo, I decided to make my own. At first I was knee deep in ingredients, tutorials, and the “Do’s and Don’ts” of body butter making.
Several years later and I’m still here, making body butter. My recipe has changed probably a few dozen times, I purchased actual beakers for the first time in my life, and I absolutely have the whole “mad scientist” thing going on in the kitchen, but I am so so happy with my efforts, and I hope you will be too.
