Orange Flower Cold Cream, 1887 Victorian Cold Cream, Facial Cleanser, Cleansing Makeup Remover, 18th Century Recipe

In doing research we have discovered many historical cold cream recipes incorporating orange flower water. After experimenting, we decided to go with the one that included the most orange flower water with a perfect balance of jojoba, beeswax, and sweet almond oil. This historical recipe from 1853 is a smooth, rich, melt-on-your-skin gem of a cold cream. Pleasant light orange scent.

The only thing substituted in the recipe is the spermaceti whale oil replaced with skin-loving jojoba oil. Due to updated Etsy policies, we are unable to discuss the benefits of this product in detail.

No chemical emulsifiers are used in this recipe, we instead use natural moisture-locking beeswax. For a cooling boost, keep in your fridge. We have stayed faithful to the recipe – this is a hot pour cold cream, not whipped. It melts with the heat of your skin and is concentrated. A little really does go a long way.

A note on tester size about size of a quarter The tester will supply 1 or 2 applications. If you have any skin reactions, sensitive skin or skin that may be prone to reaction, these testers are an option to check sensitivity. These will not give you numerous applications.

How to use: can be used as a makeup remover/moisturizer by putting a bit on a hot cloth and spreading over face, gently wipe off. Also great for winter hands, slather on hands and sleep in gloves… your hands will thank you in the morning. No yucky stuff! We are sulfate, palm oil, propylene glycol and petroleum byproducts free. This product does not contain a preservative. Please use within 6 months of opening.

A family farm since 1999, Second Chance Farm Sanctuary is the Leclerc homestead located in Ashby, Ma. Sustainable and chemical-free practices are used including rotational grazing, herbal worming, vermiculture and natural composting – we would simply have it no other way.

About our animals:
Some have come to us through farm rescues, others due to neglect, some through an owners death and some left on our doorstep.

We have loved deaf and blind sheep, a sweet hen found in a roadside trash bag, a pregnant, undernourished goat with mange and fed baby squirrels with a syringe.

Our animals are allowed to wander as they please. Regardless of how they became part of our farm, they live out their lives happy and healthy with endless hugs…
as it should be.
