Organic Face Moisturizer: Anti-Aging Night Cream for Mature Skin

! Remember to use it only at night time and make sure you never expose your skin directly in the sun while the cream is on, because it contains lemongrass which is photosensitive and if your skin is fairly sensitive, sun exposure could lead to skin discolorations.

~ The main chemical constituents of Laurel Bay attribute to a high anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity. This hydrosol is calming for skin irritations and can work really amazing with blemishes. It makes the skin soft, glowing and healthy-looking, due to the fatty acids and vitamins contained. It’s a good support to skin troubles, such as fungal infections, allergies, skin outbreaks etc. Laurel bay is also very known for its cleansing properties.

~ Castor oil is rich in fatty acids as well, which give it emollient properties and for that reason it can help with the skin barrier function and help the skin retain moisture. It is one of the greatest skin boosters and is able to shed damaged skin cells. Additionally, the ricin oleic acid contained, works to reduce irritations and inflammation while the bio-active compounds stimulate cell regrowth; that means that it is super useful for the healing and management of wounds and scars. Castor oil is loaded with antioxidant, so it can be protective and healing against free radical damage. This, in turn, prevents premature ageing by avoiding collagen damage anti-wrinkle. It can also minimize the appearance of saggy skin. Ideal not only for dry to very dry skin, but at the same time a very good choice for oily skin, because it is absorbed easily and quickly.

~ Coconut oil helps in protecting against as well as healing microbial infections and it has the ability to improve many inflammatory skin issues. Besides it is a great light moisturizer.

~ Cocoa butter is an excellent skin moisturizer and a great source of natural antioxidants and fatty acids, which -especially in combination with castor oil- leads to the prevention of skin dryness, itching and peeling.
The cocoa mass polyphenols can improve skin elasticity and reduce photoaging, plus help to the production of collagen in a natural way and without the harmful/irritating ingredients of many commercially available products that do the same job.
It could be helpful to the prevention of stretch marks for pregnant women.

~ Shea butter is used to boost all the beneficial effects of cocoa butter and is especially useful if you have eczema, psoriasis or any other kind of dermatitis. It can reduce the appearance of scarring and stretch marks, due to the natural vitamin A content, and improve the appearance of cellulite as well, by smoothing the skin. It’s also one of the most known remedies for immediate healing for the sun-damaged skin.

~ Vitamin E is added to the natural face and body creams to moisturize and nourish the skin. It helps to regenerate new skin cells, prevent skin aging and fight off free radicals on the skin.

~ I choose to use Grapefruit seed extract for its anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties, which means as a natural preservative.

– Cypress improves circulation and stimulates blood flow; for that reason it serves as a natural varicose veins’ remedy and may reduce the appearance of cellulite.

– Juniper by itself can heal and protect the skin from irritations and it is a natural way to relieve pain and inflammation. The scent from juniper berry like other essential oils can also reach the brain quickly and reduce stress and nervous tension.

All in all, the oil blend I use helps in calming the skin, and reducing inflammation. If the product is used in daily basis, it is very possible to reduce the appearance of varicose veins and cellulite as well.
